Driven by mentorship and service, Trell Amoss is committed to investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders. He has built this commitment through experiences including serving as a government affairs intern with the National Pork Producers Council and an undergraduate teaching assistant with the OSU Department of Agricultural Economics, where he supports student learning and confidence in the classroom. Trell also serves as a student success leader, helping peers prepare for professional opportunities. As team captain of the Agricultural Economics Quiz Bowl team, he leads with preparation and collaboration. Trell volunteers with Wishes for Water and the Oklahoma & Iowa FFA Association.

Sydney Bales’ orange passion is the Panhellenic community. As Panhellenic president, she fosters unity, empowers others and creates spaces where individuals feel valued and supported. An active member of the Beta Psi chapter of Gamma Phi Beta, Sydney previously served on the executive council as Panhellenic Affairs vice president, which inspired her to pursue opportunities to serve the Panhellenic community beyond her own chapter. She supports causes benefiting children, seniors and the Stillwater community through Life Kids at Life Church, previously leading Into the Streets service efforts and coordinating projects for residents at Legacy Village and Green Valley Nursing Home. Sydney also serves as a student ambassador and student council member for the College of Education and Human Sciences.

Her commitment is shaped by hands-on experiences serving patients and families with limited access to care, reinforcing her desire to give back through medicine. Cayden volunteers extensively with the Stillwater Community Health Center and Stillwater Medical Center, as well as Our Daily Bread and Wishes for Water. She serves as president of the Pre-Students of Osteopathic Medicine club and, as a cross country and track athlete and Honors College member, contributes to student leadership through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Her commitment has been shaped through long-term service with Lighthouse Medical Clinic, where she has supported patients facing complex medical needs, limited resources and barriers to care. Eden also serves in campus leadership roles as Student Government Association administrative vice president, an OSU College of Medicine student ambassador and a campus life assistant. She is deeply involved in causes that preserve animal welfare and expand access to veterinary care, including therapeutic horsemanship, feline welfare and inclusive veterinary services. Carly served as a student representative for the Feline Veterinary Medical Association Board of Directors and as a student ambassador for the College of Veterinary Medicine, helping connect students and professionals through education and outreach. She also volunteers with Turning Point Therapeutic Riding, where she supports both animals and individuals with diverse needs through hands-on care and community engagement.

Sachinthani Ayabadda Devage is committed to creating meaningful impact where support is most needed. As president of Net Impact, she initiates service driven projects that create opportunities for other students to engage in meaningful community service. A graduate researcher, Sachinthani pairs academic leadership with hands on outreach through her service as director of marketing on the Phi Beta Delta National Board, vice president of the American Chemical Society and intergovernmental officer for the Graduate and Professional Student Government Association. She supports women’s hygiene initiatives through the Red Pantry Committee and is involved with the American Red Cross and Special Olympics Oklahoma.

As an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, Kyleigh led a diabetes prevention and health education initiative for students at the Cherokee Nation Immersion School. She also serves as president of the Native American Students of Osteopathic Medicine, vice president of the Global Medicine Club and an ambassador for the Native American Primary Care Center of Excellence. Kyleigh was a mentor for the Native Explorers and Native Stars programs, where in opportunities like these, she advocates for tribal health and supports Native students pursuing careers in medicine.

Ivy Hartman’s orange passion is OSU Unified, an organization where individuals with disabilities can play intramural sports alongside OSU college students. Through this involvement, she helps foster inclusion, connection and belonging on campus. Ivy also volunteers with Hope’s Crossing Camp, supporting children and young adults with intellectual disabilities, and serves with a local Girl Scout troop focused on building confidence and self-advocacy in young girls. Her commitment to service extended globally through a mission trip to Costa Rica, where she helped install water filters to provide access to clean drinking water. Ivy is also a member of the OSU President’s Partners and GreekWide.

Kevin Kuteesa’s orange passion is advancing women’s economic inclusion through entrepreneurship. Inspired by her upbringing with a single mother in Uganda, she co-founded Prograte Capital Ventures, which has supported more than 400 women-owned small businesses through renewable microloans, financial literacy training and mentorship. Kevin serves as a graduate research assistant, where she designs student success programs and mentors fellow international students, helping them build confidence and a sense of belonging in a new environment. She is also involved with Into the Streets, the Spears School of Business Graduate Leadership Association and Phi Beta Delta.

Gracie Maschmeier’s orange passion is Unified Intramurals, where she serves as a partner on the Unified Flag Football team competing at the Special Olympics USA Games. Inspired by her younger brother, who has Down syndrome, Gracie focuses her service on inclusion, accessibility and advocacy for individuals with disabilities. She volunteers with the Stillwater Medical Center Emergency Department and serves on the Into the Streets Executive Team, supporting communitywide service efforts. As a bilingual volunteer with Crossings Community Clinic, Gracie helps bridge language barriers, ensuring patients feel informed, respected and supported in their care.

She demonstrated this commitment as executive director of CowboyThon, where she led initiatives supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Lily extends her service through involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Stillwater Humane Society, Kickin’ Childhood Hunger and Wishes for Water. She is also a member of the American Medical Student Association, Order of Omega and the Christian Medical Student Association, and serves as Panhellenic delegate and alumni relations director for Chi Omega.

Bridget is deeply involved with the Santa Market Craft Show benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma, where she serves as director of volunteers. She also gives her time to organizations including Citizens Caring for Children, Into the Streets, Hope House OKC and Give Kids the World. In addition, Bridget served as head volunteer and coach for the Incredibles Special Olympics Swim Team.

Her service includes developing and leading laboratory experiences for after-school students at the Salvation Army of North Tulsa through the Full STEM Ahead grant she received. Lindsay collaborated with OSU College of Health Sciences’ Graduate Student Clubs to create an inclusive learning space for girls through hands-on microscopy activities at the Jenks Aquarium’s Women and Girls in STEM Night. She also coordinated a large-scale Women in STEM event with the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance and OSU Center for Health Sciences, introducing local high school students to potential careers in biomedical science and research.

Driven by a commitment to break generational cycles, Carleen Mejia Perez is dedicated to creating pathways where none existed before. A first-generation medical student and young mother, Carleen’s journey has been shaped by resilience, sacrifice and a deep commitment to uplifting others who face barriers similar to those she once navigated. She co-founded Sigma Alma Fuerte to mentor Latinx youth in Tulsa through education, empowerment and representation. Carleen is dedicated to advancing health equity and building community-centered pathways that restore dignity and opportunity for underserved families. She is also an Albert Schweitzer Fellow and serves as an OSU-COM ambassador.

As a facilitator for the President’s Leadership Council, she mentors first-year students as they navigate personal growth and develop a sense of belonging on campus. In addition, she serves as a workshop facilitator for The Leadership Experience, a leadership conference hosted by the President’s Leadership Council. Andi also plays a key role in the Next Gen program, supporting junior high and high school students as they explore leadership through their unique strengths. She carries this passion beyond campus as a musical director for the Stillwater Children’s Theatre.

Spring Sendele

Sheryl Benbrook Women for OSU Endowed Student Scholarship

Doctor of Philosophy in Forensic Sciences
Rozet, Wyoming

Through her work, Spring Sendele advances research into canine dysautonomia, a rare and devastating disease affecting dogs. She has helped lead grassroots fundraising efforts that significantly expanded research support and awareness. Spring also serves as vice president of the board for Save Our Setters, advocating for the rescue, care and well-being of dogs in need. Her experience volunteering with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue team inspired her to pursue a future nonprofit that will provide specialized detection dog services to support families of missing persons. She is also a member of the National Sheriffs’ Association, Pheasants Forever and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Nicholas Ssebalamu’s orange passion is using agriculture to address food insecurity and malnutrition. As a program officer for Field of Hope, he developed agricultural extension initiatives that help farmers improve production and sustainability as a pathway to food security. In Uganda, Nicholas also led efforts to provide labor and delivery kits to teenage mothers, helping ensure safer childbirth for vulnerable families. He continues his service through volunteer leadership with the Jdiobe STEM Foundation, supporting STEM education and community development. Nicholas serves as vice president of the Plant and Soil Sciences Graduate Student Organization and as secretary of the Student Organization for International Agriculture.
