Oklahoma State University, an international family tradition. My daughter Isabella is a transfer student in the School of Architectural Engineering. We have a special relationship because as she is pursuing her undergraduate degree,
I am also working on my Master’s and will start next fall on my Doctorate. She is third generation OSU and the tenth member of her family to attend OSU.
The interesting thing is that she and the rest of her family members that attended OSU are from Venezuela, South America. Our family relation with OSU dates back to the early 70’s when her grandparents attended OSU as graduate students. Quality education is what has made our family an OSU family.
The faculty, physical facilities, access to research materials and the diverse campus environment is what makes quality education happen. |

This, of course, depends greatly on the participation of the alumni who so generously give through the OSU Foundation in support of students and for the advancement of Oklahoma State University.
This is what makes OSU an attractive site for the International scholars that pursue their academic careers at OSU. It also creates an international legacy across nations.
Both Isabella and I have benefited from the donor’s gifts to the OSU Foundation. In her case, she has been awarded a Transfer Student Scholarship which has helped us cover a great part of the out-of-state tuition portion.Personally, I had the privilege of being selected to the Lawrence L. Boger Distinguished Graduate Fellowship for the year 2007.
We are sure that our family tradition with OSU will continue, and we hope that some day we can collaborate in helping the OSU Foundation aid in the education of future generations of Cowboys.
