OSU-OKC Receives $115K Kirkpatrick Foundation Gift

Grant to build Smart Classroom benefiting Agriculture Resource Center

Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City announced a $115,000 grant award from the Kirkpatrick Foundation. It will equip a Smart Classroom for the new veterinary technology department area in the Agriculture Resource Center, currently under construction on the OSU-OKC campus and funded by the late John E. Kirkpatrick with a $1 million gift in 2006.

“With the assistance of the Kirkpatrick Foundation, we look forward to providing the best possible learning environment. Through this new facility, students will have access to improved communication technology between the Oklahoma City and Stillwater campuses and other communities in Oklahoma,” said OSU-OKC President Jerry D. Carroll.

Facilitating transmission of real-time activities, this state-of-the-art classroom will provide for collaboration between OSU-OKC’s veterinary technology program in Oklahoma City and the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences (CVHS) in Stillwater, as well as other departments on the OSU-OKC campus.

The Smart Classroom is an innovative approach to learning, attracting students to the field of veterinary technology and exposing them to employment opportunities at CVHS. This high-tech classroom will also offer an outstanding venue to the community with increased capacity for conferences, interviews, guest speakers and distance education opportunities.
