OSU Foundation Exceeds United Way Goal

Oklahoma State University Foundation announced today it not only met its $11,000 fundraising goal for 2006 but exceeded that amount by 28 percent.

“In this season of giving, I couldn’t be more thrilled with the Foundation’s continued progress to support the United Way,” said Kirk A. Jewell, OSU Foundation President and CEO. “Oklahoma State University continues to demonstrate an enduring commitment to generosity, which is evidenced by the many ways our faculty, staff and students give back to the community.

OSU Foundation totals stood at $14,127 with more than 77 percent of staff participating in the campaign. This the third consecutive year the Foundation exceeded its goal.

“Our target was $11,000, a 10% increase over the 2005 goal, so we’re very pleased our staff again rose to the challenge and didn't forget the existing needs of their neighbors here in Stillwater,” said Erin Barry, Benefits Coordinator and campaign organizer for the foundation.

The Oklahoma State University Foundation serves as the private fundraising organization for OSU, as designated by the OSU Regents. Its mission is to unite donor and university passions and priorities to achieve excellence.
