Oklahoma State University Foundation Elects 23 New Governors to Board

Distinguished leaders selected to advance university vision

Oklahoma State University Foundation announced the election of 23 new governors at the annual meeting of the Board of Governors in Stillwater. Roger Beecham, Donald Bugh, Kurt Carter, Jan Cloyde, State Representative Dale DeWitt, Kent Dunbar, Melvin Gilliam, John Groendyke, Dr. Richard Hastings II, Michael Hyatt, Douglas Jackson, Dr. Carlos Johnson, Keith Kisling, Dr. Trudy Milner, Dr. Russell Postier, Dr. David Russell, Beverly Schafer, Paul Schulte, Todd Townsend, Peggy Welch, Jerry Winchester, John Yeaman and Dan Zaloudek assumed six year terms as governors. 

“Our governors are people of influence in their communities who provide leadership for the foundation and help identify others who have a passion for OSU’s success. We recognize and appreciate their dedication to the university,” said Kirk A. Jewell, OSU Foundation president and CEO. 

Beecham of Dallas, Texas, is a partner and attorney for Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller, LLP. He earned a civil engineering degree in 1965 from OSU and a juris doctorate in 1968 from the University of Oklahoma.

Bugh of Tulsa, Okla., is the retired president and CEO for NGC Supply Inc. He earned a business degree in 1953 from OSU.

Carter of Edmond, Okla., is a registered principal for Stillwater National Bank in Oklahoma City. He earned a public relations degree in 1981 from OSU.

Cloyde of Los Angeles, Calif., is managing director for Grandpoint Capital Inc. She earned a sociology degree in 1972 and a master’s degree in student/personnel guidance in 1974 from OSU.  

District 38 State Representative DeWitt of Braman, Okla., is a retired agriculture teacher and farmer. He earned an associate’s degree in science in 1970 from Northern Oklahoma College and an agriculture education degree in 1973 from OSU.

Dunbar of Tulsa, Okla., is a managing partner for MAM Management, LLC. He earned a physiology degree in 1969 and an MBA in marketing/finance in 1972 from OSU.

Gilliam of Tulsa, Okla., is a bank owner. He earned a business administration degree in 1990 from OSU.  

Groendyke of Enid, Okla., is chairman and CEO for Groendyke Transport Inc. He earned a business degree in 1966 from OSU and a juris doctorate in 1969 from OU.

Hastings of Tulsa, Okla., is an owner and physician for Harvard Medical Clinic. He earned a chemistry degree in 1968 from Cornell College in Iowa, a doctorate in 1974 from Washington University in Missouri and a doctorate of osteopathic medicine in 1980 from the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa.

Hyatt of Fort Worth, Texas, is the senior vice president of investments for UBS Financial Services Inc. He earned a finance degree in 1967 from OSU and an MBA in management in 1974 from Texas Christian University.

Jackson of Enid, Okla., is a partner and managing partner for Gungoll, Jackson, Collins, Box & Devoll, P.C. He earned an agriculture economics degree in 1973 from OSU and a juris doctorate in 1977 from Washington College of Law.

Johnson of Oklahoma City is a senior investment banker for BOSC Inc. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1964 from East Central State University, a master’s degree in 1966 from OSU and a doctorate of education in 1977 from OSU.

Kisling of Burlington, Okla., is owner and manager of Kisling Farms. He earned an agriculture education degree in 1969 from OSU.

Milner of Tulsa, Okla., is a physician for OMNI. She earned a biology degree in 1973 from William Woods College, a nursing degree in 1974 from Baylor University and a doctorate of osteopathic medicine in 1988 from OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Postier of Edmond, Okla., is a physician for the OU Health Science Center. He attended OSU in 1971 and earned a doctorate in 1975 from OU.

Russell of Enid, Okla., is a retired physician. He earned a premedical science degree in 1965 from OSU, a doctorate degree in 1963 from OU and a master’s degree in public health in 1967 from Johns Hopkins University.

Schafer of Tulsa, Okla., is employed by Pavilion on the Square. She earned an elementary education degree in 1967 from OSU.

Schulte of Kingfisher, Okla., is partner and attorney for Baker, Logsdon & Schulte. He earned an agriculture economics degree in 1979 from OSU and a juris doctorate in 1982 from OU.

Townsend of Oklahoma City is chief marketing officer for Sonic. He earned a journalism/advertising degree in 1986 from OSU and a master’s degree in advertising in 1987 from Northwestern University.

Welch of Tulsa, Okla., is a community volunteer who earned a journalism/broadcasting degree in 1973 from OSU.

Winchester of Cypress, Texas, is president and CEO of Boots & Coots in Houston, Texas. He earned an engineering technology degree in 1983 from OSU.

Yeaman of Dallas, Texas, is chairman of the board for Tyler Technologies Inc. He earned a management degree in 1963 from OSU.

Zaloudek of Tulsa, Okla., is president and founder of IMEDIA Inc. He earned a mechanical engineering degree in 1968 from OSU and an MBA in business in 1974 from Louisiana State University.

The OSU Foundation Board of Governors is composed of 122 men and women whose leadership and commitment to the university are demonstrated through achievement in business, steadfast financial support and a motivation to enhance the programs and initiatives of the Foundation.  Governors are leaders who have an avid interest in advancing higher education and demonstrate personal ties and dedication to Oklahoma State University.  Among the governors, 24 trustees are selected to act as the governing body of the organization and comprise the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

The Oklahoma State University Foundation serves as the private fundraising organization for OSU, as designated by the OSU Regents. Its mission is to unite donor and university passions and priorities to achieve excellence.
