Endowed faculty positions at OSU attract outstanding faculty with national and international recognition for quality teaching and research. In addition, the added expertise of these reputable educators provides the leadership to benefit and serve other faculty, students, and the region. Faculty members who hold prestigious chairs and professorships are considered experts in their field and are highly regarded in the academic world.

Not only do endowed positions increase a faculty member’s stature in their profession, but these roles establish educational strength and prestige for Oklahoma State University’s many academic departments and disciplines. They greatly enhance OSU’s ability to recruit and retain world-class educators in all academic fields.

Naming Opportunities

Chairs and professorships may be named after a donor, a special loved one or a memorable educator. Naming a faculty position ensures the person’s legacy will inspire many generations of Cowboys, linking their name with a distinguished line of educators and researchers.

Since only the investment earnings are spent, an endowed chair or professorship guarantees OSU’s perpetual academic strength and excellence. For more information about funding an endowment to benefit Oklahoma State University, please visit the endowments page.
